Shravana Nakshatra
Vishnu (The Preserver/All-Pervading)
Shravana means 'hearing' - the first step in Vedantic practice (Shravana, Manana, Nididhyasana). Ruled by Vishnu the Preserver, Shravana natives have the gift of listening and learning. The three footsteps (Trivikrama) symbolize Vishnu's ability to span all realms. Vishnu preserves dharma by appearing as avatars whenever needed. Shravana natives similarly serve as preservers and transmitters of sacred knowledge. Their spiritual path is literally 'Shravana' - hearing the truth from a guru, then contemplating and realizing it. They make excellent teachers because they first know how to be excellent students.
