Jyeshtha Nakshatra

Jyeshtha means 'eldest' or 'chief' - this nakshatra creates leaders and protectors. Ruled by Indra, king of the gods, Jyeshtha natives often find themselves in positions of authority and responsibility. Indra's story is one of both glory and fall - he slays the dragon Vritra but also falls through pride and indulgence. Jyeshtha natives must guard against spiritual pride and the misuse of power. Their highest expression is as protectors of dharma, using their authority to benefit others. When ego is transcended, they become true spiritual warriors like Arjuna, whom Indra guided.
